Agro Policy 
   
Highlights :  

  • Seeking to address relevant concerns, aiming to spur investments in agri- processing, agri-infrastructure and high-tech agriculture
  • Aiming to create a world class supply-chain, promotion of agri-infrastructure, close interface between research, extension, industry and farmers.
  • Assistance to small scale agro-based units to improve their competitiveness in the global markets and enhancing exports of value added agri-products.
  • Tiny, small, medium and large agro industrial units offered a 6% back ended subsidy for five years on the interest on term loan upto a maximum of Rs. 100 lakhs.
  • Agri-infrastructure projects offered a 6% back ended subsidy for five years on the interest on term loan upto a maximum of Rs. 400 lakhs.
  • Reimbursement of 50 % expenditure of the cost of project report preparation to individuals/institutions upto Rs. 5 lakhs.
  • Assistance upto 50% of the initial capital investment with a ceiling of Rs. 500 lakhs for specific crop development institute / center of excellence.
  • Assistance for quality certification mark to small and tiny units upto 50% of the cost with a ceiling of Rs. 5 lakhs.
  • Assistance for patent registration upto 50% of the cost with a ceiling of Rs. 5 lakhs.
  • 25% subsidy provided on airfreight for export of edible products from S P International Airport, Ahmedabad subject to a ceiling of Rs. 10 lakhs per beneficiary.
  • 50% subsidy provided on the cost of sending samples and the cost of getting samples upto a limit Rs. 50,000/-
  • 50% subsidy on research and development for improvement in quality of agriculture produce upto a ceiling of Rs. 20 lakhs.
  • State Government may also consider equity participation from 11% - 26% in select projects to facilitate private sector investment.
  • Government provides government land including agriculture farms on long term lease basis at concessional rates.
  • Government to create a venture fund in association with financial institutions/banks.
  • Incentives made available to new units as well as existing units undertaking technology upgradation, modernization, expansion or diversification.
  • Incentive available to the units located in the entire state except in the areas under the Municipal Corporations of Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, Rajkot, Jamnagar and Bhavnagar.
  • Cold chain projects and retail outlets for perishables offered incentives in all the areas of the state.
  • Gujarat Agro Industries Corporation Ltd. is the nodal agency to implement the policy.
